Royal Galaxy Productions is a north Carolina based photography and videography company, formed from a lifelong love of cinema and content creation, founded by Michael Evans.

Where RGP Comes From
Early Days
My love for filmmaking and editing goes way back. I made plenty of short films in my youth, but in 2010, I led my team to victory in the Free Enterprise Leadership Challenge thanks to my love for filmmaking.
The FELC was a group competition in which each group needed to conceive a product within a defined category. It was my idea to create a commercial that spoofed those old Sarah Mclachlan ads, to comedically pull at the heartstrings of parents over the fear of losing the memories of their kids’ experiences at the event; the product itself being a DVD with photos and videos of the activities of the campers. Our team won, marking the first time for the FELC that The Publications Team secured victory.
Not long after this, I would take some after-school film classes, learning the basics of covering a scene and editing, but filmmaking would remain a hobby to me at this point and not a career, as history and home theater technology would be my main focus, the latter of which would prove very useful later on when I began to work with audio equipment for RGP.
In 2020, I revisited my love for filmmaking in a bigger way, creating a YouTube Channel as an activity during the pandemic lockdown period. Retro Boost began as a channel for retro video game reviews and smart home tutorials, but going into 2021 would focus mainly on Retro Gaming Enhancement Technology products, featuring reviews and feature comparisons. Through the years, Retro Boost would continue to grow, to the point that I joined the partner program and could monetize the content on the channel.

My experiences with Retro Boost provided the perfect environment to grow my skills. From using a Camcorder to a DSLR. From recording audio with a USB Mic to learning how to operate a Mixer with XLR Mics. From editing with Pinnacle to learning Adobe Premier Pro and Photoshop; and speaking of photoshop, when I started using DSLRs, that came with learning to shoot in RAW and process photos after. That brings us to today, with Royal Galaxy Productions creation!
